The Aleo Collective

In this webinar, we will explore how diet culture’s harms can manifest within families + how to set boundaries with other family members.

Disordered eating is often first learned in the home, whether it was through how we saw diet culture play out in our parents’ lives or were told to follow suit. Diet culture has robbed many of our parents/caregivers of a peaceful relationship with food and their bodies, and its harmful beliefs are passed down easily through the generations.

Members from The Aleo Collective, therapist Raquel Griffin MSW RSW (she/her) and peer support worker Dustin LindenSmith (he/him), will explore the ways in which harmful diet culture and disordered eating can manifest within families. They will also present examples of boundary setting regarding diet culture talk and behaviours.
